This photo reminds us of the joy, expansiveness, and lightness of Spirit that is experienced when we take flight towards the seemingly unreachable sky.
Wood sorrel is both edible and medicinal. You can easily add a few leaves to a wild harvest salad for a bit of lemony tang or enjoy as a trail nibble. Like lemons, this plant also happens to be high in Vitamin C.
Though it may not appear so from the photo – this bumblebee was almost as big as the clover flower it’s collecting from. Unlike honey bees, bumblebees often build their nests in the ground and produce small amounts of honey since only the queens survive the winter.
Deptford pink wildflowers are easy to overlook because of their tiny flower size. (About the size of a dime or smaller.) Had I been looking for something special or tiny, I probably would have missed this flower.
This beautiful, brightly colored ladybug wears red to alert others to her Danger (she leaves a bad taste in your mouth.) Remember that, guys, next time you find a pretty lady in red.
This eastern tiger swallowtail has likely had many a bird encounter. Unscathed? No. Brilliant and victorious? Absolutely.

Ever heard the phrase “As above, so below?” I often think of it as the polarity we experience in life. That which exists in the heavens is reflected here on Earth… There are many ways to think of it, yet we need only look to nature for real representations of esoteric concepts.
When I first found this pure white moth resting peacefully on a leaf, I wasn’t quite sure what it was. After lots of searching, I still had no answer. What was the name of this creature? Finally – after a couple days – I figured it out!
Great blue herons can be found all over the United States. Most often they are seen by fresh or salt water, catching small fish and other water creatures. When hunting, these birds are very slow and still – until it’s time to strike.
